This year it is possible to visit the Baths of Caracalla in the moonlight, thanks to the initiative "Tender is the night at the Baths of Caracalla", a series of summer openings in the Roman monumental complex, which allows you to admire the ancient and imposing ruins in all their splendor.
The initiative, organized by the Special Superintendency of Rome in collaboration with Electa, is scheduled until 22 July and from 3 to 25 September, from 8 pm to 11 pm, with reservations required.
New in the 2021 edition is the double visit option: a free walk among the large mosaics and the remains of the basins, the architectural decoration, the gyms, the natatio and the frigidarium; or with a guided tour that allows you to discover the underground passageways of large driveways that runs under the building for about six kilometers - and the Antiquariumwith the architectural fragments of the building, surviving from the sixteenth-century looting, the Mithraeum and the Reintegrated Apple by Pistoletto, the second work of the master donated to the monument after the Third Paradise, visible in a flowerbed of the large garden.
The visits take place in compliance with the rules of distancing and quotas even on the same day, for a maximum of 20 people in turn to visit.
